  • About The Role

  • At Guide Dogs, we believe that everyone should have the opportunity to live the life they choose, regardless of sight loss. As a Maintenance Coordinator, you’ll play a key role in ensuring our buildings, grounds, and pool vehicles are well-maintained, creating a safe and efficient environment for our staff, volunteers, and the people we support.

No two days are the same in this hands-on role, where you’ll be helping to maintain our state-of-the-art £10 million, BREEAM Excellent new-build facility. With cutting-edge building technology and a strong focus on sustainability, you’ll play a key role in ensuring everything runs smoothly. From overseeing the gardens and grounds contract to coordinating contractors and carrying out routine equipment checks, your work will help keep the site in top condition. You’ll also take the lead on health and safety, support compliance with BREEAM standards, and manage pool vehicles to ensure they remain safe and roadworthy.

This is an opportunity to take ownership of a vital role where your practical skills and problem-solving abilities will be highly valued. You’ll also have the chance to work as part of an on-call rota, ensuring we’re always prepared for workplace emergencies.

    What We’re Looking For

If you have hands-on experience in managing a new building, a good understanding of health and safety, and knowledge or understanding of building management systems, we’d love to hear from you. You’ll also need strong communication skills, effective time management, and the ability to undertake physically demanding tasks. A professional facilities or workplace qualification (such as IWFM Level 2) or a NEBOSH Health & Safety General Certificate would be a bonus, but not essential.

  • About Us

We offer a flexible benefits package, discounts and cashback scheme, a generous holiday allowance and matched contributory pension scheme to care for our people.

This role will be based at our state of the art £10m BREEAM excellent building at our Redbridge office, working closely with a team of guide dog trainers. You’ll be working 17.5 hours per week.
