At Guide Dogs, we believe that everyone should have the opportunity to live the life they choose, regardless of sight loss. As a Maintenance Coordinator, you’ll play a key role in ensuring our buildings, grounds, and pool vehicles are well-maintained, creating a safe and efficient environment for our staff, volunteers, and the people we support.
No two days are the same in this hands-on role, where you’ll be supporting the smooth running of our impressive new £10 million, BREEAM Excellent site, complete with cutting-edge building technology. We're not looking for a qualified plumber or electrician—just someone practical, reliable, and confident with general repairs and upkeep. If you're the kind of person who enjoys rolling up your sleeves and sorting things out, you’ll fit right in. From keeping our gardens and grounds in great shape, to carrying out routine checks, supporting contractors, ensuring health and safety compliance, and managing pool vehicles, you’ll be a key part of what keeps the site running safely and efficiently.
This is an opportunity to take ownership of a vital role where your practical skills and problem-solving abilities will be highly valued. You’ll also have the chance to work as part of an on-call rota, ensuring we’re always prepared for workplace emergencies.
If you have hands-on experience in managing a new building, a good understanding of health and safety, and knowledge or understanding of building management systems, we’d love to hear from you. You’ll also need strong communication skills, effective time management, and the ability to undertake physically demanding tasks. A professional facilities or workplace qualification (such as IWFM Level 2) or a NEBOSH Health & Safety General Certificate would be a bonus, but not essential.
