  • About The Role

  • You’re passionate about dog training and behaviour, with the skills to coach others and support the development of ethical, welfare-focused training practices.  You enjoy working across teams, building confidence, and making a lasting difference to how dogs are supported through their journey.

As Training and Behaviour Specialist, you'll support the development of staff across the South Region, coaching teams and individuals to build their skills and understanding of dog welfare, behaviour, and training. With a focus on delivering consistent, ethical, and positive reinforcement training, you'll work closely with operational teams at both the Redbridge and London sites.

You’ll provide mentoring, practical training, and behavioural advice, while also contributing to the development of procedures and training resources. Your insight and coaching will play a key part in ensuring the quality of dog and client training meets national standards. From puppy socialisation through to behaviour modification and specialist support, your role will be hands-on and varied, supporting sustainable partnerships between people and dogs.

To succeed in this role, it’s essential that you hold an accredited qualification in animal behaviour or training, or have demonstrable relevant experience, along with membership to a recognised professional body. A full UK driving licence, or the ability to travel independently around the region, is essential. You'll bring hands-on experience in behaviour modification and positive reinforcement techniques, alongside the ability to coach and support others to develop their practical skills.

You’ll be a confident communicator, highly organised, and passionate about promoting best practice in dog welfare and training; these skills will support you in making an impact in a collaborative and forward-thinking environment.

No two people with sight loss are the same, and none of our people are either. So, we are proud to offer a range of person-centred benefits that can support each member of staff in ways that really mean something to them – and show them how much they mean to us. We offer a flexible benefits package, discounts and cashback scheme, a generous holiday allowance and matched contributory pension scheme to care for our people.

This role will be based from one of the sites in the South Region (Redbridge or London) and requires regular travel across the region.  You’ll be working 35 hours per week, 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday.

Interviews for this role are planned to take place W/C 5 May.

For high volumes of applications, we reserve the right to close adverts earlier than advertised.
