  • About The Role

  • The Maintenance Coordinator, the official title used at Guide Dogs, plays a vital role in helping people with sight loss to live the life they choose by delivering high‑quality maintenance services across buildings, grounds, gardens, and pool vehicles, working under the direction of Facilities.

The role ensures that agreed standards are consistently met or exceeded, that Guide Dogs is represented positively at all times, and that sites remain safe, accessible, and welcoming for employees, volunteers, and service users.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Carry out reactive repairs and maintenance activities in line with site procedures, prioritising work based on urgency and risk to maintain a safe and well‑presented environment.
    • Complete planned preventative maintenance tasks in accordance with site‑specific schedules, ensuring statutory testing requirements are met and accurate records are maintained.
    • Work safely at all times, following approved safe systems of work, and promptly escalating any health and safety concerns that require further assessment or specialist advice.
    • Raise maintenance requisitions for materials and services, ensuring timely submission for approval in line with established processes.
    • Maintain awareness of budgetary constraints, actively seeking cost‑effective solutions while maintaining quality and compliance.
    • Liaise with external contractors, obtain quotes for minor works, and supervise contractors on site to ensure safe working practices and quality standards are upheld.
    • Develop and maintain a basic understanding of systems managed by contractors, including the location of relevant manuals and technical documentation.
    • Ensure site pool vehicles are regularly checked and maintained in accordance with agreed procedures, ensuring they remain safe and roadworthy for staff use.
    • Work collaboratively with grounds and facilities contractors to ensure external areas are clean, tidy, hazard‑free, and well‑maintained, with essential supplies kept appropriately stocked.
This is a Monday-Friday 9-5 role based at our Leamington office.
