Location: Homebased (with regular national travel across Guide Dogs' sites)
You’re passionate about learning and development and thrive in a collaborative environment where your expertise can make a meaningful impact.
We’re looking for an Academy Learning Business Partner to join our dedicated Academy team. In this national role, you’ll work closely with our Operations teams to ensure the effective delivery of tailored learning pathways, designed to meet the needs of both new learners and those undergoing ongoing CPD (Continuing Professional Development). You’ll play a pivotal role in maximising the potential of our technical workforce by designing, implementing, and improving learning programmes that foster long-term success and staff retention.
Our technical workforce works directly with our dogs, service users and volunteers and is pivotal at delivering our Guide Dogs Service.
Key Responsibilities:
As the Academy Learning Business Partner, you'll play a central role in delivering effective learning pathways that support the growth and development of our technical workforce. You'll work as part of a collaborative national Academy team, ensuring that these learning pathways are adaptable and offer maximum return on investment, meeting both short- and long-term needs. Your expertise will be key in creating solutions that benefit both new learners and those undergoing ongoing development.
You'll have the opportunity to partner with subject matter experts (SMEs) and key stakeholders across our organisation, developing learning pathways that are aligned with competency frameworks and service goals, all while enhancing employee development. You’ll help drive
continuous improvement, using data to identify areas for improvement in learning outcomes such as time to competency and staff effectiveness.
We’d love to hear from you if you have proven experience in
developing comprehensive learner pathways, including adult learning models and
competency frameworks.
Your expertise should extend to current learning and development practices, and you should be comfortable working with the latest technologies that enhance learning delivery. Experience with the technical workforce within Guide Dogs or an understanding of the International Guide Dog Federation (IGDF) quality framework would be advantageous.
You should have excellent
organisational and
time-management skills, and be comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously. Strong interpersonal skills are essential, as you’ll be collaborating closely with a variety of stakeholders across the organisation. A certificate in Learning and Development or Adult Learning, or equivalent experience, would be ideal. Familiarity with
change management and continuous improvement methodologies would also be an asset.
This role is homebased but will require you to travel to a variety of nationwide Guide Dogs locations on a regular basis as required for the role, including the need to stay overnight. Please note the map to the right of the advert shows Reading as the role location but this is only indicative as this is a Homebased role. This is a non-disclosure role.
If shortlisted you may be required to attend a virtual interview and subsequently an Assessment Day at our National Centre in Leamington on Thursday 3rd April.
