  • About The Role

  • As part of your application, please include a link to your portfolio or alternatively email the document to [email protected].

At Guide Dogs, we believe in a world where people with sight loss have the confidence and support they need to live the life they choose. We’re looking for a talented Designer to help bring that vision to life through exceptional, inclusive, and high-impact design.

As part of our Creative team, you’ll be instrumental in shaping how the public sees and feels about our work. You’ll create compelling visual content that not only captures attention but also deepens understanding and builds emotional connection. From eye-catching print campaigns and dynamic digital graphics to infographics, presentations, and social content, your work will reflect our mission and values every step of the way.

You’ll collaborate closely with our Senior Designer, Senior Design Manager, and wider teams across the organisation, including fundraising, marketing, volunteering, and operations, to deliver design solutions that are audience-focussed, on-brand, and accessible to all. Your knowledge of best practices in design and accessibility will ensure every project, no matter the platform, upholds our commitment to inclusivity.

Bringing strong creative judgment, you’ll confidently interpret briefs and develop design concepts that go from initial idea to polished final artwork. Alongside this, you’ll help maintain our visual identity across all touchpoints and champion the consistent use of our brand. You’ll also support image selection and retouching, assist in photoshoots when needed, and contribute to managing our Digital Asset Management system, ensuring our assets remain diverse, inclusive, and impactful.

If you're passionate about using design to make a difference, and thrive in a collaborative, purpose-driven environment, we’d love to hear from you.

We value in-person collaboration with our teams and those we support, so the ability to travel to our sites is needed for this role. We support hybrid working arrangements, so you have flexibility to work in a way that’s best for you. This role is based at our Reading Hub, with an average of two days per week in the office, or as required by business needs. You’ll be working 35 hours per week, worked 9:00am to 5:00pm, Monday to Friday.

No two people with sight loss are the same, and none of our people are either. So, we are proud to offer a range of person-centred benefits that can support each member of staff in ways that really mean something to them – and show them how much they mean to us. We offer a flexible benefits package, discounts and cashback scheme, a generous holiday allowance and matched contributory pension scheme to care for our people.

Every day is different at Guide Dogs. And no person with sight loss is the same. We work side by side, on our sites and in the community, in schools and on our streets, supporting people to live the life they choose. Our staff therefore also work in different ways to support the delivery of our life changing work.

    Safeguarding

Guide Dogs is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children, young people and adults at risk of harm with whom we work. We expect all our employees and volunteers to fully share this commitment.

At Guide Dogs, we believe in fair and equitable hiring practices. A criminal record will not automatically disqualify an applicant from consideration for a position. Each case will be evaluated individually, taking into account the nature of the offense, its relevance to the role, and the time that has passed since the incident. We encourage all candidates to disclose relevant information, and we assure you that it will be handled confidentially and fairly.

Guide Dogs follow Safer Recruitment practices to ensure we are safeguarding the vulnerable people we work with. As part of this, we require a full work history with any gaps accounted for & a minimum of 2 professional referee details fully covering the past 5 years. If you are applying for a disclosure role, please note that you will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check and sign up to the DBS update service.
